Hazard Communication Course
WCCA Training Room ~ 9 am - 5 pm
29 CFR 1910.1200 the Hazard Communication Standard (Right to Know) is one of the most commonly sited OSHA violation. An estimated 30 million workers are exposed or potentially exposed to more than 650,000 hazardous materials each year. There are typically 20,000 incidents of exposure to hazardous materials annually that result in one or more lost workdays because of illnesses or injuries from these materials. The Hazard Communication Standard (HCS) provides information to workers and employers about various chemical hazards that exist in the workplace, and what protective measures they can take in order to prevent the adverse effects of such hazards. This course gives you a basic understanding of how to deal with hazardous chemicals and how workers can prevent and protect themselves from fatal chemical hazards. Course Content: Understand the purpose of Hazard Communication Standards (HCS) Recognize physical and health hazards associated with hazardous chemicals. Learn about labels and MSDSs, Recognize symbols used to identify hazards and Explore how to prepare and implement a written hazard communication program. Instructor: Melody Keane Cost $75.00 pp for WCCA members;$90.00 for non-members. RESERVATIONS DUE BY MARCH 9.

This course addresses general duty clause, walking/working surfaces, materials handling, fire protection, personal protective equipment, electrical, fall protection, hazcom, scaffolding, confined space. Instructor: Tom Halter COST: $150.00 pp for WCCA members;
